ENGLISH & LITERACY
Fun, friendly and flexible classes in English language for people who speak English as an additional language and would like to improve their skills and confidence. Our English language program, offers courses at 3 different levels depending on your current standard of English.
Students attend classes two classes per week. Classes are run for 2.5hrs between 9am and 3pm weekdays.
Course Duration
All English courses are run over one year according to school terms. The term dates in 2024 are:

This training is delivered with Victorian and Commonwealth Government funding.
A shared reading group where a classic or contemporary short story is read aloud and explored each week. Members can simply listen or follow along with their own copy of the story, while sampling different literary themes, discussing issues and celebrating the beauty of the English language.
Flemington Library – Mondays 12pm – 2pm

Annual Fee: $50
Develop speaking, listening, and reading skills at weekly English Conversation classes. Whether it’s improving skills for employment, voluntary work, further study or personal interest, all are welcome to participate. Run in partnership with the Moonee Valley Libraries. All new learners are supported into their studies at FSNLC through an interview and orientation process to encourage inclusion and participation. An interview is conducted prior to enrolment, during which we assess the prospective student’s eligibility, English language, literacy and numeracy proficiency and which programs will contribute to goals for employment and further study.
