40th Anniversary

Farnham Street celebrated their 40 years anniversary on Thursday, 5th September during Adult Learner’s Week.  Cathy Connop, who has been working at Farnham St for 30 years, took this opportunity to thank the staff, Committee members, volunteers and the students.

Special guests who attended the event were:

Danny Pearson – State MP for Essendon,

Emma King – CEO of VCOSS,

Cr. Narelle Sharpe – Mayor of Moonee Valley,

Maria Peters – Chair of the Adult Community & Further Education Board

Nicole Battle – CEO of Neighbourhood Houses Victoria

Gerard Mansour – Commissioner for Senior Victorians,

Jenny Macaffer – CEO of Adult Learning Australia.

Danny officially launched the event and spoke about how the Government provides a structure but it is organsiations like Farnham St and that represent the very best and provide a safe and a better place for the community.

All the other speakers agreed with Danny and spoke about the exceptional work that Farnham Street does with a wide range of community members.

Jenny Macaffer, on behalf of Adult Learning Australia, presented the Adult Learners Award to Kari Fujita, an EAL 4 student at Farnham St.
