On Wednesday, Farnham Street Neighbourhood House proudly joined Neighbourhood Houses from across Victoria at a rally calling for fair and sustainable funding to keep our doors open.
Our Manager, Cathy Connop, attended the rally alongside staff, volunteers and supporters from across the sector. The strong turnout demonstrated the deep commitment and collective strength of Neighbourhood Houses and the communities they serve.
Neighbourhood Houses play a vital role in fostering connection, inclusion and opportunity. Every day, we provide safe and welcoming spaces where community members can learn new skills, access support services, build social connections and participate in meaningful programs.
Without sustainable funding, many Neighbourhood Houses face difficult decisions about reducing services or closing their doors. With fair and adequate funding, we can continue to deliver the programs, services and community connections that local residents rely on.
Farnham Street Neighbourhood House stands in solidarity with Neighbourhood Houses across Victoria and calls on the Victorian Government to provide the long-term funding certainty needed to support thriving, connected communities.
