National Reconciliation Week

National Reconciliation Week (NRW) 27 May to 3 June, is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. Reconciliation is a journey for all Australians – and at Farnham Street Neighbourhood Learning Centre, our classes reflect this. Teachers are holding discussions and readings about the early days of colonisation and the injustices done to Indigenous Australians, while acknowledging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander rights to land and sea, understanding the impact of government policies and frontier conflicts, and stories of Indigenous successes and contributions.
